The Art of Parenting: Parenting tips

"The mind is as important as the body. But because it does not bleed, it does not break, it is easy to think that it does not matter"

              Gill Sanderson
              The country doctor's daughter

Exactly! The mind is as precious as the body. It is the temple where sacred thoughts are to be borne, where tears of happiness must flow, and good words to be creatively made. According to numerous studies conducted about the treatment of people towards mental health, it is evident that mental health is considered 'nothing to be serious' mode in most countries, especially in developing countries where the literacy rate is low. In psychologists' words, there is a strong relationship between education and mental health in creating a sustainable healthy society. They say with value-based education a society becomes mature in dealing with an individual's personal affairs not causing mental abrasion. Mental instability can happen from a small joke to hurting facile comments and the wound will each time bleed even after years. In short, psychologists suggest that this mental acceptance or in other terms mind absorption should be a priority at home and parents must teach their children not only how to behave publicly but also individually take care of other's thought processes. Every individual has their weak points and strong points. Respecting others' feelings, and emotional turmoil even seems reasons insignificant to you, rights and experiences would be a remarkable attempt to create a bright future for coming generations.

A responsible parent must be aware of the lessons passed on to their child as living in this very modern world with a kind heart is valuable though finds it difficult. Home is the first school of every child. The chapters on kindness and respect happen to be taught by their first teachers-father and mother. Accepting people with all their flaws and faults will make a great space when growing up with dreams. Such children would not crush others' feelings and this whole universe will be filled with the natural vibration of love. Here are some things to be emphasised as a parent;

1. Let them see parents loving each other and respecting each other.
2. Spend time with children playing, cracking healthy jokes, telling stories, reading good books etc. Find a time and make them feel 'Very Important'.
3. Find a family time where discussions with children consider a priority. A dinner time when their feelings can be shared.
4. Be their friends so that their minds can open even in any situation.
5. Teach them how to positively understand and accept people, be an example for them.
6. Try to be their role model with quality behaviour and response and improve yourself.
7. Make your home a school of positive dynamism to teach physical and mental health that should not be ignored. Both are equally important.

Though the list is incomplete these simple yet powerful methods can make our children better citizens and humans to create a world fit to live with happiness.

A world of physical and mental comfort does wonders.
