1. The Prophet by Khalil Gibran

Khalil Gibran is one of the writers in the world who motivates readers with encouraging thoughts. Thoughts are the core of human existence. In this book, he writes about reality. The prophet is leaving the village and the people feel sad. They all come to seek his advice on everything from emotions to life and death. The prophet delivers the truth to them and encourages them to be a part of the great universe.

It’s beautifully written in a poetic style. All the words are enlightening for a satisfying life. Before going to bed, reading one chapter of the book gives the energy to focus on life.

2. Palace of Illusions by Chithra Banarjee Divakaruni

OMG.. one of the most interesting novels in the world to give a different dimension of Mahabharatha. From Panjaly’s point of view, this story gets a new sight. It’s painful to read this novel because how she lived with her five husbands, how much she yearned for real love etc are discussed with sensitive language. It.s a voyage reading this novel through her heart.

She is an Indian writer living in the US for years. Her language is simple and emotional. The Indian emotional and cultural aspects visible in Mahabharata are beautifully presented in the novel.

3. The Country Doctor’s Daughter by Gill Sanderson

A romantic medical drama with an emotional plot. The doctors fall in love with each other. But the relationship is harder sometimes especially after a break up with someone we truly loved. The heroine fears being in love with someone again but the situations make her be a lover again with a divorced man. He has a daughter who cannot walk and has been in bed for years. They get attached and Jenny(daughter) considers her as her second-loving mother.

This drama entertains the readers through relatable events and emotions.

4. I Am Malala by Malala Yusufsai

This name is familiar to everyone in the world. She was the Nobel Prize Winner for peace. She was the strong person who fought against the Taliban. She was the fighter for education and women's freedom. She wrote this work about her emotional series when she was in her own country. Her thoughts are important to discuss in the world. The government’s attitude on women and how the society reacted to it, what the world wants from women and how the religious ignorance made the country a worse place to live are all depicted in her talk-way.

This is not for entertainment. This book is recommended for those who want to explore new aspects of life in the world. She talks about everything without fear.

5. My Story by Kamala Das

As we all know she is the most popular Indian writer in the world whose works have been translated into many other languages. She has received many awards from Kerala and the Indian government for her contributions to literature. My story is a depiction of her self combined with dreams and real-life experience. A woman isn’t a choice for men but she needs much from her partner. She goes deep into the women’s heart to squeeze her emotions and dreams of the future. The language is simple and attractive.

Although she has received awards and honours, she has been attacked by critics for her real expressions. She talked about the sex and women’s part in a sexual relationship normally. A brave writer who has been hurt her whole life.

Reading means knowing the world truly. Reading is the most wonderful action that can change the world for the better. To know, you must select books from different genres.
